The Elements’ series of sculptural vessels use a complex glassmaking technique similar to the coil method of building ceramic pots using multiple pieces of clay. Adam “builds” each sculpture from numerous individually blown elements that are manipulated while hot. This process is particularly difficult to control as conventional glass blowing techniques cannot be used.

“I use the hot glass bubble as a building block to create these purely sculptural forms. There are generally more failures than successes as working this way is intense and technically challenging. When it all comes together, they are magical.”
