New Dawn Sculpture at Westminster Hall.

New Dawn, the only permanent sculpture in Westminster Hall, captures the spirit of the women's suffrage movement and honours the fight for women's voting rights. The brainchild of Mary Branson, this contemporary artwork was commissioned by the Speaker’s Advisory Committee on Works of Art as part of Mary's residency for the Parliamentary Art Collection.

Adam crafted the 168 exquisite glass scrolls, each one a unique masterpiece. These varied-size discs were hand-blown and skillfully ‘spun’ to achieve their distinct flattened form. The way Adam meticulously applied powdered glass colours and silver leaf during the blowing process truly brings the intricate scroll patterns to life. His renowned techniques shine through in every one of these magnificent glass scrolls.

“As an artist, I find great joy in witnessing how installations connect with their surroundings—light, dimensions, and energy play pivotal roles in my creative journey. I’m genuinely excited about New Dawn, which not only honours history but also inspires us to reflect on our future, igniting a sense of hope and enthusiasm for what lies ahead.” - Adam
